Advanced Clogging Classes

In the early 1980s, clogging made a dramatic leap by developing a more advanced style of footwork. Over in the Carolinas, what is now called "buck style" clogging developed. Dancers began to dance with the weight on the ball of their feet and added a pitter-patter with the heels (which can also be done with toes). Over in Ontario, Canadian step dance also merged into clogging, adding a more "Irish" feel. Advanced clogging is what you will see more often on shows like America's Got Talent and America's Best Dance Crew. Prior experience in clogging, tap, or Irish dance is required!

Description	Classes are open to intermediate level cloggers, tappers, and Irish dancers. Class will begin with two quick teaches of intermediate level dances to help maintain the primary voacabulary of the class. The remainder of the class will be focused on dances featuring advanced step work. Current class will be working towards performing at the Tommyknockers Jamboree in September. Classes cancelled on August 17 & 24.

Mussel Rock Performance Workshops	Two performance workshops are offered annually where students master 2 to 3 dances in formation with an optional performance at the end of the series. Classes are $16 with a discounted series rate available.
	Spring Session (cancelled) Instructor: Ian Enriquez The 2013 session focused on a neo-burlesque cabaret style with the following dances: Show Me How You Burlesque, Circus and The Garden. Performance in June.
	Fall Session (TBD) Instructor: Sarah Dwight-Gilroy The focus will be on the following dances: TBD. Performance in December.
